There are two primary design characteristics in the automated letter mailstream; printed self mailers and mail pieces utilizing envelopes. The eKEY™ family encompasses both primary designs.
Self Mailers
eKEYs™ designed as self mailers can be inexpensive, bi-fold pieces through multi-fold multi-pocketed two-way mailers. Generally eKEY™ self mailers are constructed of 80# cover for stability and weigh more than an ounce.

Envelope Mailers
eKEY™ envelope mailers utilize an insert piece that anchors the optical disk within an envelope per postal regulations. Butler Business Services has First Class mailers which weigh less than one ounce. Our non-windowed mailer can be used for quick efficient delivery of optical disks through the First Class mail stream. Our windowed mailer was designed for the rental market and is a one ounce, two-way mail piece for optical disks. Both of our First Class mailers have been tested and approved for automation by postal engineers. The two-way mailer has also been approved by the USPS Pricing and Classification Service Center in New York.
If you wish to use an envelope mailer in the Standard mail stream, the eKEY™ insert piece can be sized to fit any 6 inch tall envelope meeting the USPS required aspect ratio. eKEY™ envelope mailers can be 6 x 9 up to 6 x 11 ½ inches long. They can carry additional marketing materials or even a second disk, as long as the total weight doesn’t exceed 3.5 ounces. Postal engineers have approved our single pocket 6 x 9 envelope mailers for both standard and mini optical disks. Other configurations are available for testing and approval.
